Bitcoin Lightning Network infrastructure provider Mash recently announced that it has decided to shut down its current version. This is nearly two years since Mash successfully completed a $6 million seed round in June 2022 to establish a usage-based revenue model for content creators. All products and services will cease to function on May 17, 2024 at 9am EST. Users are advised to remove any funds on Mash products as they will not be able to access them from the same day.
Users can transfer funds to Lightning-enabled wallets, including Cash App, Mutiny Wallet, Kraken Zeus, Breeze, ZBD, Phoenix, and more. The team expressed gratitude for the support it has received over the years and hinted at returning to the market after reinventing the platform.
