On September 13, the Ministry of Commerce obtained preliminary evidence and information showing that the relevant measures of the United States in the field of integrated circuits in China comply with the "discriminatory prohibition, restriction or other similar measures against the People's Republic of China in trade" stipulated in Article 7 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China. According to the preliminary evidence and information obtained, the object of this investigation is the relevant measures of the United States in the field of integrated circuits in China, which may include: Since 2018, the US government has imposed or will impose tariffs on Chinese products, including integrated circuits, and other possible prohibitions, restrictions or similar measures based on the results of the 301 investigation against China. Since 2022, the US government has restricted relevant enterprises and individuals from conducting economic, trade and investment activities in China in accordance with the Chip and Science Act and related rules. The current investigation began on September 13, 2025, and the investigation period is usually three months, which can be extended in exceptional circumstances.
