Cyber security company: malicious software operation named "JSCEAL" impersonates over 50 well-known encryption applications, and over 10 million users around the world are at risk

According to Cointelegraph, Check Point research shows that a malicious software campaign codenamed "JSCEAL" is impersonating nearly 50 commonly used cryptocurrency trading apps around the world, including Binance, MetaMask, and Kraken. The campaign has been active since March 2024, by serving malicious ads to induce users to download fake apps with malicious software.
Research shows that 35,000 malicious ads have been placed in the first half of 2025, affecting millions of users in the European Union alone. The malicious software uses a unique anti-detection technology that collects sensitive data such as keyboard input, Telegram account info and autofill passwords, and can manipulate cryptocurrency-related browser plugins. Experts suggest that using anti-malicious software capable of detecting malicious JavaScript execution can effectively prevent such attacks.
