Analyst: Powell copes with Trump, Trump's "selective" cognitive dissonance

Eamonn Sheridan, an analyst at financial website Forexlive, said that when Trump visited the Federal Reserve headquarters, he did what he was good at: dealing with the media. Powell, who was present with him, did not look very comfortable. However, when the boss visits, something has to be done. Trump again asked Powell to cut interest rates, and also said that housing prices must be lowered. Sheridan ironically said that low interest rates may make housing prices rise, and cognitive dissonance is indeed one of Trump's strengths.
