According to Cryptoslate, French lawmakers have submitted a proposal to use the excess power of nuclear power plants for bitcoin mining, which is expected to generate $1-1.5 billion in annual revenue. The five-year pilot program would allow mining centers to be co-located with nuclear power facilities and start only when there is excess power, while recovering the heat generated by mining for heating or industrial use. The proposal was submitted to the French National Assembly on July 11.
