Russian lawmakers have voted to pass a digital ruble bill that sets a timetable for the launch of a central bank digital currency (CBDC). According to Russian state news agency Tass, the Duma has passed a law on the "gradual introduction" of the digital ruble, scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026.
