On April 25th, the Ethereum L2 project Taiko announced that the Hekla testnet has been opened to the public, supporting EIP-4844 functionality, and the mainnet will be launched soon.
New features: no longer need to file L1 nodes; enable EIP-4844DA blocks; adjust L2 block gas issuance and cap; fine-tune EIP1559 configuration; improve daemon proof infrastructure; support two-step claim of L2 to L1 bridge tokens.
In addition to this, Hekla uses the same competition-based Rollup (BCR) mechanism as Katla. Taiko will launch on the mainnet using the BCR architecture. Katla will be deprecated on May 10.
