After Trump suspended the tariffs, Christopher Hodge, chief U.S. economist at Natixis in New York, I think it's fair to say that through bilateral negotiations, foreign tariffs may be reduced a little bit. In a free-trading country like South Korea, where there is not much room for tariff reductions, the situation will be trickier. We may return to the Trump version 1.0 playbook, where foreign countries agree to buy more specific goods from the United States. This may improve the trade deficit slightly, but it will not fundamentally change the trade relationship as the administration would like.
