Moody's: If Trump doesn't lift tariffs, buckle up and be prepared for shocks

"If the U.S. government implements these higher tariffs without significant exemptions, it's going to be hard for the economy to digest. A recession seems more likely," said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics. "In many ways, the tariffs Trump has announced are even worse than the worst-case scenario he envisions," said Mr. Zandi. "If they follow through, I'll buckle up and be prepared for the shock."
