US stocks closed: Nasdaq rose more than 2%, Tesla rose nearly 12%

U.S. stocks closed Monday with the Dow up 1.4 percent, the S & P 500 up 1.76 percent and the Nasdaq up 2.27 percent. Nvidia (NVDA. O) rose 3 percent and Tesla (TSLA. O) rose 11.9 percent. The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon index fell slightly, with New Oriental (EDU. N) down more than 5 percent and Alibaba (BABA. N) down 0.4 percent.
