The Securities Exchange Commission is seeking public comment on whether the agency should approve options trading on three spot Ethereum ETFs.
The Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) sought comments on whether to allow the Cboe Exchange, Inc. to list and trade options on the Grey Release Ethereum Trust ETF, the Grey Release Ethereum Mini Trust ETF, and the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, according to a regulatory filing released Tuesday. Comments should be submitted within 21 days of publication in the Federal Register.
The agency has yet to approve options trading for spot Ethereum ETFs. Companies have been vying for options trading permits since the SEC approved several spot Ethereum ETFs in May 2024.
