Chen Shuangshuang, an equity partner at DH Law Firm in Beijing, said that according to the "Joint Circular" and other relevant regulations, the sale of virtual asset-related products must comply with the requirements of the relevant jurisdictions, that is, the sale of virtual asset spot ETFs to Chinese mainland investors is prohibited. Legal persons or natural persons in the Chinese mainland are also not allowed to directly or indirectly purchase bitcoin ETFs without first obtaining all the necessary government approvals in mainland China.
