Apple Reportedly Raises Foldable IPhone Production Target to About 10 Million Units

A foreign media report said Apple has told suppliers to prepare to produce about 10 million foldable iPhones this year, up from a previous forecast of 7 million to 8 million units. According to Jin10, the report also said Apple asked supply-chain manufacturers to reserve component capacity in the second half of 2026 that could support production of 80 million iPhones, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the company’s first foldable iPhone.

The report said Apple’s total iPhone output in 2026 is expected to exceed 220 million units.

Several supply-chain sources expressed a cautious view about the reported increase in orders for the first foldable iPhone. Counterpoint senior analyst Lin Keyu said a shipment target of 10 million units seemed high and might reflect increased stocking of certain parts or components. Lin said current estimates put Apple’s foldable-screen iPhone shipments in 2026 at about 6 million to 7 million units.
