Digital yuan wallets at five major banks now support the Digital Yuan App’s offline payment code function, enabling payments in offline or weak network conditions.
According to NS3.AI, the function generates a merchant-scannable payment code that can be used when network connectivity is unavailable or unstable.
The feature is expected to be rolled out gradually to additional operating institutions.
