CSI AAA Sci-Tech Innovation Bond ETFs Overtake CSI 300 ETFs in Total AUM as of July 10

ETFs tracking the CSI AAA Sci-Tech Innovation Bond Index surpassed ETFs tracking the CSI 300 Index in total assets under management as of July 10, becoming the largest index by tracked ETF scale in the market, according to 36Kr.

The report said sci-tech innovation bond ETFs have expanded significantly since launch, supported by relatively steady returns, duration characteristics suited to market conditions, and improved supply-demand dynamics. It added that benchmark market-making credit bond ETFs also saw rising scale, helping push total bond ETF assets close to RMB 900 billion. The report noted that after bond ETFs were included as eligible high-quality collateral for pledge-style bond repo transactions, their value as institutional allocation tools has become more prominent.
