Musk has been in contact with Chinese-American politician Andrew Yang about forming a party

Elon Musk, who is setting out to create a new party to stir up the American political system, spoke to Andrew Yang, a Chinese-American entrepreneur and one-time Democratic presidential candidate, about the fledgling effort. Andrew Yang, a former 2020 presidential candidate and founder of the independent party Kadima, said in an interview that he had been "in touch" with Mr. Musk and his team. "I'm excited for anyone who wants to get rid of the two-headed [donkey-like bipartisan] monopoly," Mr. Yang said. "I'm excited to help others understand what the path is like." Mr. Yang did not respond to follow-up questions about when they spoke or what other issues they discussed. He stepped up his criticism of America's two-party system after his failed bid as mayor of New York City as a Democrat in 2021. Kadima has gained recognition in a handful of states and aims to win votes in all 50 states this year.
