DAO infrastructure provider Tally completed a $8 million Series A round of financing, led by Appworks and Blockchain Capital, and participated by companies such as BitGo. The new funds are used to expand the governance technology of its decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). The Tally protocol mainly provides support for infrastructure and helps protocols to effectively govern their DAOs on the chain, including Arbitrum, Uniswap DAO, ZKsync, Wormhole, Eigenlayer, Obol, and Hyperlane.

On August 16, the Snapshot governance page showed that Frisson, the head of market operations at Tally, initiated a "enable ARB staking to unlock token utility" proposal in the Arbitrum community, which was approved with 91.54% support. The proposal proposes to unlock ARB utility by enabling ARB staking and improve the governance and security of the Arbitrum protocol, but will not open the application to token holders for the time being.
On August 10, Tally Markets Director Frisson introduced a new proposal to improve governance and enhance security by implementing ARB token staking. The proposal plans to launch a liquid staking token called stARB through the Tally protocol, and introduce DeFi and Restaking to enable token staking revenue and compound interest, while retaining holders' governance mandates.
