Chainalysis: Less than 1% of funds on the chain are related to illegal activities.
Eric Jardines, head of research at blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, says that while crypto crime is large in dollar terms, the proportion is still relatively small: less than 1% of on-chain value is related to illegal activity, and fraud methods such as "romance scams" are currently the mainstream means of crypto crime.
