EIA natural gas inventories fell less than expected, and U.S. natural gas futures continued their decline, falling 6.5%.
EIA Natural Gas Report: As of the week of August 9, total U.S. natural gas inventories were 3.264 trillion cubic feet, 6 billion cubic feet lower than the previous week, 209 billion cubic feet higher than the same period last year, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year, and 375 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average, an increase of 13.0%.
EIA Natural Gas Report: As of the week of August 2, total U.S. natural gas inventories were 3.27 trillion cubic feet, an increase of 21 billion cubic feet from the previous week, an increase of 248 billion cubic feet from the same period last year, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year, and 424 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average, an increase of 14.9%.
