The last day of trading in 2024 was shortened due to the holiday, and U.S. Treasury futures were actively traded, but had little impact on prices. After the month-end index rebalanced at 1 p.m. New York time, the yield curve steepened. The 10-year Treasury yield rose nearly 5 basis points to 4.58% during the day, and was close to 4.50% at the beginning of the day, the lowest level in more than a week.
The 30-year main contract rose 0.04%, the 10-year main contract rose 0.02%, the 5-year main contract rose 0.02%, and the 2-year main contract rose 0.02%.
