The Department of Justice announced a criminal charge on November 8 local time, accusing Iran of plotting to murder former US president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump ahead of this week's US presidential election. The Justice Department said an Iranian official directed a contact in September to develop a plan to spy on and ultimately kill Trump. The plan was thwarted by the FBI and failed. There has been no response from Iran.
The HKMA today announced that it intends to rename virtual banks as digital banks. On July 25th, the Core Foundation announced on Thursday that it will introduce a dual staking model for Core Chain. The model builds on Core's existing non-custodial bitcoin staking system, which was launched earlier this year. The dual staking model allows bitcoin holders to earn higher returns by staking bitcoin and CORE tokens. Since its launch in April, the non-custodial bitcoin staking system on Core Chain has attracted around 5,000 bitcoins, worth around $309 million, the foundation said.
