On October 31 local time, Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Roy Sumirat said that Indonesia has submitted an application to join the BRICS countries and looks forward to becoming a full member of the BRICS countries. Indonesia is currently waiting for the final decision of the BRICS member countries. Sumirat said that Indonesia hopes to expand its economic partnership with its member countries and make a more active contribution to the global crisis by joining the BRICS countries.
