BBVA Asset Management launches'tokenised 'fund through CNMV sandbox

BBVA Asset Management (AM) has launched a pilot project aimed at applying blockchain technology to asset management, in line with its strategy of leveraging innovation for the benefit of its clients, according to official sources. To achieve success, the company has registered a short-term fixed income "tokenized" investment fund, BBVA Token Renta Fija Corto Plazo, through the regulatory sandbox of Spain's National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). For fund share holders, investing in this fund is the same as investing in traditional funds, except that subscription and redemption orders will be managed and recorded through the blockchain without affecting the investor experience.
