Malicious Google Chrome extension causing a trader to lose $800000 in cryptocurrency

Investors discovered two suspicious extensions in Google Chrome browser, resulting in a loss of $500000. Further investigation revealed that keyboard recorders targeting specific cryptocurrency wallet extensions suffered a total loss of up to $800000. It is reported that traders have repeatedly delayed Chrome updates, but mandatory Windows updates ultimately led to system restarts. After restarting, the extended login information was reset and funds were stolen. The victim was forced to re-enter all credentials and manually re import the seed phrase of the cryptocurrency wallet. The user suspects that the keyboard recorder has leaked sensitive information, but no abnormal behavior was observed after restarting. It is reported that the attacker has transferred funds to two exchanges, MEXC in Singapore and Gate in the Cayman Islands.
