Arthur Hayes, chief investment officer of digital asset investment fund Maelstrom and co-founder of BitMEX, is using Ethena Lab's USDe stablecoin to hedge against uncertainty while maintaining a large bullish bet on bitcoin, ether, and other cryptocurrencies.
"Given the uncertainty, Maelstrom put 5 per cent of the money into the staked USDe, yielding about 13 per cent. We maintain significant long positions in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other tokens."
