Tether CEO responds: There is no indication that Tether is being investigated

Paolo Ardoino, Tether's chief executive, wrote in response to the FUD news: "As we told The Wall Street Journal, there is no indication that Tether is being investigated. The Journal is just repeating old news."
Previously, the Wall Street Journal reported that the US Treasury has considered imposing sanctions on Tether, the issuer of the stablecoin USDT. According to people familiar with the matter, the federal government is investigating whether the cryptocurrency company Tether may violate sanctions and anti-money laundering regulations.
