The modular blockchain Celestia has announced the launch of the Ginger upgrade. Officials say the upgrade will double the throughput of data availability by halving the block time. In the upgrade, including increasing the block size to 8 MB, introducing a verified signer blob type, versioned Gas scheduler and timeout, transaction size limit and PFB block limit, etc. Ginger will be activated at Arabica height 2348907 (expected November 5, 2024) and is expected to land on the Mocha testnet in November, with a mainnet test version in December.
