Elon Musk: Third-quarter vehicle safety report shows tenfold improvement in autonomous driving safety

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has stated that we do not intend to rely solely on in-house battery production. With the upcoming release of FSD version 12.5, users will experience noticeable improvements in autonomous driving, particularly in terms of mileage driven between interventions. We are merging the FSD code into a single system, unifying city driving, engine and high-speed driving into a single technology stack, which marks a significant improvement in high-speed driving. Tesla internally expects that the intervention-free driving mileage achieved by FSD will exceed that of humans, possibly reaching this milestone in the second quarter of next year, although this may be delayed until the third quarter. FSD usage has increased dramatically, and we expect to achieve full autonomous driving on existing models by next year. We are rolling out another 30-day trial program. We launched a ride-hailing service for Tesla employees in the Bay Area (California). Driverless ride-hailing services are expected to be available in Texas and California next year. We released our Q3 Vehicle Safety Report, which showed a tenfold improvement in safety, with one accident every 7 million miles while driving on slippery surfaces, compared to one accident every 700,000 miles in the U.S.
