FOX reporter Eleanor Terrett said in a social media post that the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) has included cryptocurrencies in its 2025 review priority list, even though no major cryptocurrency players are registered with the SEC in 2024. The only other crypto assets I can think of that the SEC has interacted with in a regulatory role rather than an enforcement role are Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.
