Mr. McCormick, a staunch advocate for the cryptocurrency industry, said in June: "Embracing cryptocurrency and blockchain will create tremendous jobs for our federation and benefit our national security." He stressed that the US risked being left behind if Congress did not embrace the next wave of innovation.
