Tether posted that by the end of the third quarter of 2024, 330 million on-chain wallets and accounts (user agents) had received USDT, and the number of new users each quarter was higher than the previous quarter, with an average increase of 9% over the past four quarters. The third quarter of 2024 was its fastest growing quarter to date, welcoming 36.25 million users.
Tether says USDT is used the most on Tron, Binance Smart Chain, and Ethereum, with the fastest growth over the past year coming from Ethereum Layer 2: Optimism, Arbitrum, and Polygon, as well as Avalanche and Solana. USDT has experienced explosive growth on TON, adding 3.30 million users in just six months, accounting for 1% of all USDT users on the chain.
