Venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz each donated $2.50 million to a super PAC supporting Donald Trump, according to new filings with the Federal Election Commission.
The eponymous founders of the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz stunned Silicon Valley when they announced their support for Trump in July. It was not previously known which Trump-aligned group they were backing. Andreessen also donated an additional $844,600 (federal limit) to Trump's campaign and the Republican Party.
Mr. Horowitz told his company in October that he would also make a "substantial" donation to the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris, even though he was not aware of or supportive of her policies. A record of the donation has not yet appeared in federal filings.
