Coinbase filed a motion for partial summary judgment in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to obtain documents from the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) on how securities laws apply to cryptocurrencies. Currently, the SEC says it will take three years to provide the documents requested by Coinbase.
