On April 8th, on April 7th, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao presided over a roundtable meeting of Chinese electric vehicle companies in Europe in Paris, France. Representatives from more than ten companies, including Geely, SAIC, BYD, CATL, and the European Union China Chamber of Commerce, attended the meeting. The attending representatives introduced their investment and operation in Europe, as well as their response to the EU's anti subsidy investigation on electric vehicles. The meeting focused on exchanging ideas on optimizing the global layout of Chinese enterprises and deepening practical cooperation in the electric vehicle industry between China and Europe. Wang Wentao stated that Chinese electric vehicle companies rely on continuous technological innovation, a sound supply chain system, and sufficient market competition for rapid development, rather than relying on subsidies to gain competitive advantages. The accusations of "overcapacity" from the United States and Europe are unfounded. The development of China's electric vehicle industry has made important contributions to the global response to climate change and green and low-carbon transformation. The Chinese government will actively support enterprises in safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests.
