German suspect Horst Jicha was charged in New York for allegedly manipulating a $150 million cryptocurrency scam and is now a fugitive. He was released on $5 million bail while imprisoned at home, but is suspected of tampering with the electronic anklet on October 3. Prosecutors say Jicha falsely promised investors up to 140% returns in USI Tech's multi-layered marketing scheme, and transferred about $150 million of Ethereum and Bitcoin to an address he controlled after the platform ceased operations. Jicha was scheduled to stand trial in March next year. His whereabouts are currently unknown and an active manhunt is underway.
