Soneium, the Sony Layer 2 project, has announced two major upgrades at the end of this month, introducing Granite and Fjord via a dual hard fork upgrade, and updating its Layer 1 contract to v1.6.0. Soneium says these upgrades will improve its security and efficiency, prepare Soneium Minato to join Superchain and expand the Soneium ecosystem with other OP L2s, and they will also enable Superchain governance to oversee future L1 contract upgrades, thus strengthening the decentralization of its ecosystem.
