US stocks close: S & P 500 hits new high, China index falls more than 1%

On October 10, the U.S. stock market closed Wednesday, the Dow index initially closed up 1%, the S & P 500 index rose 0.7%, both setting new closing highs, and the Nasdaq index rose 0.6%. NVIDIA (NVDA. O) fell slightly, while Apple (AAPL. O) and Amazon (AMZN. O) both rose more than 1%. The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon index closed down 1.29%, Alibaba (BABA. N), JD.com (JD. O) fell more than 1%, and XPeng Motors (XPEV. N) rose more than 3%.
