On October 9th, Xiaohui Liu, head of MVC technology department and founder of sCrypt, announced on Twitter that the research of Bitcoin sidechain MVC (MicrovisionChain) has made significant progress in the third quarter of 2024, and the following three aspects will be practiced in the next six months:
Fully enable OP_CAT opcodes: MVC, as a Bitcoin sidechain, will leverage OP_CAT opcodes to support Layer-1 smart contracts, enabling developers to build Turing-complete decentralized applications (DApps) under the UTXO model.
2. SegWit integration: The introduction of SegWit will enhance transaction processing efficiency, reduce transaction fees, and optimize the execution of smart contracts, ensuring higher transaction throughput and security.
3. Merge mining research: MVC will further strengthen the decentralized safety classifier by merging mining with Bitcoin, leveraging the security and computing power of the Bitcoin network, while attracting more miners to participate.
