Crypto exchange-traded product (ETP) issuer 21Shares has called on European Union regulators to establish a unified regulatory framework to include cryptocurrencies in investment products.
On October 7, 21Shares called on the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) to adjust its regulations to include crypto assets in UCITS funds for retail investors, such as exchange-traded products (ETPs) and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). 21Shares said that the current European Union regulations on the inclusion of cryptocurrencies in such funds are inconsistent, and the regulations vary from country to country, causing confusion and inconsistency for investors.
