Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has donated 100 ETH worth about $240,000 to the legal defense fund of Roman Storm, a Tornado Cash developer accused of money laundering. This is Vitalik's third time backing the fund, which has raised more than 327 ETH.
A US judge denied Storm's motion to dismiss and the case will proceed. Storm denies the charges and faces up to 45 years in prison if convicted. Despite facing sanctions, Tornado Cash has about $1.90 billion in deposits in the first half of 2024.
