Nigeria's Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, has announced a $1.50 million initiative to boost artificial intelligence (AI) development in the country. The fund, backed by global foundation Luminate, will be launched in Abuja on October 7. This follows the launch of the $61,780 artificial intelligence fund by the ministry in partnership with Google, but the fund has been criticised for not being enough to fuel the artificial intelligence revolution.
