On October 4, Meta unveiled a set of artificial intelligence models called "Movie Gen", capable of generating realistic movies up to 16 seconds long, complete with sound effects and background music.
Movie Gen is not the first multimodal AI model capable of generating video and audio from simple text prompts, but it appears to demonstrate state-of-the-art capabilities. The researchers responsible for developing the app claim it outperforms rival systems in human testing.
