The Stacks Foundation said in a post on X that the Nakamoto activation is expected to take place on October 9. To this end, the Stacks community will host more than 20 developer workshops around the world, including lectures, live demos, and technical challenges, where participants can win STX.
It recently announced that the core developers have selected the Nakamoto hard fork block - Bitcoin block#864864, when key improvements to Nakamoto will be deployed, including fast blocks, bitcoin finality, etc. As part of the hard fork, all node operators should upgrade their nodes, and Binaries will be available about a week before the hard fork.
It added that the core developers remain committed to a safe and secure release. If necessary, they will reserve the right to choose a new hard fork block to resolve issues or investigate network activity. Any updates to the block will be updated immediately.
