Former Apple design director confirms work on a new device with OpenAI, iPhone veteran

In April, it was reported that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman had teamed up with former Apple design director Jony Ive to design personal AI hardware and was currently seeking outside investment. Ive himself confirmed this on September 21. The report mentioned that by the end of this year, the new company may raise $1 billion in funding. The project currently has only 10 employees, including two point persons who worked with Ive to develop iPhone. As for what the product itself is, it was rumored last year that it was inspired by touchscreen technology and the original iPhone, but this news has not been confirmed yet.
