The Bank of India expands the scope of CBDC wallet services, gradually slowing down transaction volume

The Bank of India announced the expansion of its digital rupee (CBDC) wallet service from banks to non bank payment operators. As transaction volume slows down, the vice president revealed that since the pilot program in December last year, the cumulative number of transactions has exceeded 22 million, with 4.6 million consumers and 400000 merchants.
