Legislators shelve digital euro bill

German legislator Stefan Berger, responsible for negotiations on the digital euro, stated in an email that many issues such as one or more wallets, holding limits, and trading history have not been resolved, and the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee is unlikely to reach a strong compromise before the end of its term. The new European Parliament will decide whether to start drafting the bill from scratch or give it a lower priority after the June elections.
