Former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison will face sentencing on September 24. In court papers filed on September 17, US prosecutors cited Ellison's "extraordinary co-operation" in the case against former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, providing "credible and robust testimony" to the trial and being honest about her serious wrongdoing in the FTX debacle. Despite her involvement in wrongdoing, prosecutors place primary responsibility on Bankman-Fried. Ellison had previously pleaded guilty to seven counts of fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors recommended lenient treatment for her, and her lawyer requested that she complete her sentence and receive three years of supervised release.
