Solana-based game project MagicBlock has completed a $3 million pre-seed financing, with venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) participating.
MagicBlock is working on a game engine to make video games run entirely on-chain. The company solves this problem with a new technology called ephemeral rollups, which temporarily moves Solana's state to higher-throughput rollups before returning to Tier 1. With the new funding, the six-employee startup will work on expanding the team and developing the technology, which includes bringing its game engine to the Solana mainnet and working with on-chain games.
