On September 17th, Intel and Amazon Cloud as a Service (AWS) said on Monday that they will expand their cooperation to include joint investment in custom chip designs under a multi-year, multi-billion dollar framework. As part of the collaboration, Intel will produce artificial intelligence fabric chips for AWS on its state-of-the-art process node, Intel 18A. The company also said it plans to establish an Intel foundry as an independent subsidiary of Intel.
