Stablecoin issuer Circle and Sony Block Solutions Labs will collaborate to enable USDC on Soneium. Soneium will integrate the cross-chain USDC (Bridged USDC) standard and establish cross-chain USDC as one of the main tokens for value exchange on the chain. Cross-chain USDC can act as a proxy for native USDC on Ethereum, enabling developers building on L2 such as Soneium to use USDC payments to power their applications.
